A DicaNote note holds text and the rest of the material for the topic: photo, PDF, recording, video, drawing, link. The paperclip on the bottom bar is the entry point.

Open the attachments panel

On the notes list or inside a note, tap the paperclip.
The Add Attachment panel splits into capture and files on the device.

App label: Add Attachment. Under Capture: Photo, Scan, Audio, Video. Below: Photos, Audio Files, Video Files…

Android may ask for photos, camera, microphone or files permission. Allow only what the action needs.

How to archive notes in DicaNote

Archiving hides the note from the day-to-day list. Unlike the trash: the content stays in the library, it just gets out of the way.

Archive a note

Open the note or enter selection mode.
Tap Archive (box/archive icon on the action bar).
The note leaves All Notes / the main list and starts counting under Archive.

In bulk: select several → Archive.

In note actions or bulk selection, use Archive to store without deleting.

Where to see the archive

Open Categories (shortcuts or the search panel).
Under SYSTEM CATEGORIES, tap Archive.

Archived notes live there. Tap to open, edit or Unarchive / restore to the active list (exact label varies).

How to attach video to a note in DicaNote

Property visit video, product demo, class clip: in DicaNote the file sits with the text that explains the context. Two paths in the attachments panel — Video (camera) and Video Files (gallery).

Attach from the gallery (Video Files)

Tap the paperclip.
Tap Video Files (Add video from device).
In the Android picker, choose the video. The system may warn that the app only accesses what you select.
Tap Done.
Check thumbnail, duration and name. Use Add more for another attachment.

Photo Picker: DicaNote only receives what you select.

Thumbnail with duration (e.g. 1:29) and file name.

Record with the camera (Video)

Paperclip → Video under Capture.
Allow the camera if Android asks.
Record and confirm.
The clip enters the note.

Large files fill the phone. Prefer short clips or keep the original elsewhere.

How to back up and restore DicaNote (Back up now and Restore)

Three different tools in DicaNote:

UI language: English names on screen.
Privacy: screenshots without a real email, PIN, or personal file names.

Part A — Import and Export (readable files)

Menu ⋮ → Import / Export.
Import: TXT, Markdown, folder or ZIP → pick in the Android selector.
Export: all notes or a selection; TXT or Markdown.

App label: Import / Export. Use it to move text between apps; it does not replace a full restore.

Test with a few notes before importing a huge folder.

How to change theme, color and text size in DicaNote

If text looks small, yellow tires you, or you prefer a dark background at night, that lives under Settings → Appearance.

Appearance is under preferences, next to General and Security.

How to connect notes with internal links in DicaNote

Category groups. Link connects. A “Trip” note can point to “Packing”, “Hotels” and “Itinerary” without copying the text three times.

Link to another note (internal)

Open the source note.
On the bottom bar, tap the relations / links icon (connected dots or equivalent).
Choose the destination note.
Confirm.

The app shows a card with title and snippet. Tap the card to open the linked note.

The card identifies the related note without leaving the reading flow.

You can also paste a dicanote://note/... link in Markdown if a demo note or the app generates that address.

Many people tap + and think DicaNote only opens a blank page. Not quite. The app shows a menu with four paths. Picking the right one at the start saves taps later.

On the home screen, the yellow + button sits in the bottom-right corner.

Open DicaNote.
Tap the yellow +.
Choose one of the four options.

The + menu lists blank note, template, to-do list and drawing.

In DicaNote a task can live with its context: text, attachment, category. You mark the action, set a date and, if you want, a reminder (bell).

UI language: calendar, bell and Notifications & Reminders are usually in English on screen.

Create a task from a note

Tap + (blank note, template or to-do shortcut).
Title with a verb (Confirm check-in, Send report).
Turn on task mode (circle next to the title, when available).
Calendar icon → date.
Enable time if it is at a specific moment.
Bell icon → reminder (how long before).
Save.

Direct title; details and attachments in the note body.

Task date and reminder (bell) time are different things — configure both when the commitment is firm.

How to create your first note in DicaNote

DicaNote is for capturing quickly and organizing later. Your first note does not need to be perfect: a title, two lines and save already counts.

Home with search, pinned notes and create shortcuts.

Create the note

Open DicaNote.
Tap + (yellow/blue, bottom-right) or Insert note.
If a create menu opens, pick blank note, template, list or drawing — blank is fine the first time.
Type a title you will recognize a week from now.
Write the body.
Tap save (disk icon) at the top if it appears — the app also protects drafts, but saving after a big change avoids surprises.

The + may open options: note, template, checklist, drawing.

How to favorite, pin and change note layout in DicaNote

The list grows fast. Favoriting, pinning (Pinned) and switching layout avoid endless scrolling to find the same note every day.

Pin (Pinned)

Pinned notes move to Pinned at the top, with a counter (e.g. Pinned 2).

Open the note or use the preview.
Tap the pin.
Return to the list: the note is under Pinned.

Unpin: tap the pin again or use Unpin in bulk selection.

Favorite

The heart marks a favorite. It is not the same as pin: favorite highlights; pin sends the note to the top block.

How to find duplicate notes in DicaNote

Imports, sharing the same text twice or “saving again just in case” create duplicates. The DicaNote menu has Find Duplicates to list candidates.

Open the tool

On home, tap ⋮.
Tap Find Duplicates.
Review the pairs or groups the app shows.
Open the notes, compare content and decide.

Find Duplicates is in the main menu, next to Templates, Statistics and Settings.

What to do with each copy

Attaching is the paperclip on the note. Managing is the Attachments menu: a library view of files that already entered the app.

How to merge notes in DicaNote

Sometimes the same idea becomes three notes. DicaNote has Merge Notes to join the content and keep one main note.

UI language: the merge dialog is in English — the names below are the ones on screen.

Enter selection mode

On the list, use Dense layout if Grid only opens a preview on long-press (layout).
Long-press the first note’s title.
Tap the others. The counter rises.
On the bulk bar, tap Merge Notes.

How to organize notes in DicaNote with categories and tags

With a few notes, the list is enough. With dozens, you need big folders (categories), fine labels (tags), top shortcuts (pinned) and search.

Practical rule: category = where the topic lives. Tag = a trait that appears in many places.

On home, tap the menu/folder icon next to Smart search. Common tabs: recents, categories, tags.

Browse by group without leaving the list.

How to play attached audio in DicaNote

After recording or attaching audio from the device, the note shows a player: waveform, time and controls.

Player with play, waveform, duration (e.g. 00:04) and 1.0x speed.

Play

Open the note that has the audio / headphones icon in the list.
Tap Play on the player.
Tap again to pause.
If there is a speed control (1.0x, 1.5x…), use it to listen to interviews faster.
The player trash removes only the attachment (confirm if you do not want the file).

On home, some notes show a compact player on the list row — play opens without entering the full editor.
